Kacee + Chris’s wedding was kind of a bucket list wedding for me to shoot. A couple who plans their wedding in under two months? For a Tuesday? At a location that doesn’t even have a GPS address? Check check check! Add in a ring bearer puppy and a restored classic truck and yes, definitely a wedding I couldn’t wait to be a part of!
Kacee + Chris met in college, and then in true millenial love story fashion, found each other again through Snapchat. Whatever it was that would bring them back to each other it was absolutely meant to be. Kacee has a wicked sense of humor, like hysterical. The girl is funny. But also super sweet. So sweet that the thing she cared most about for her wedding was that the important people in her life were able to be there. Specifically, making it a time when her father would be there to walk her down the aisle. And he could not have been more there. A proud father in all the ways, he was beaming as he saw his daughter at their first look, beaming as he walked her down that aisle. He kept her smiling and laughing the entire day. When Dad handed Kacee over to Chris, he knew he was handing over his daughter into the most protective, caring and loving hands.
At our first meeting, Chris probably got to talk a little bit less than Kacee and I, but one thing I did learn about Chris was that He. Loves. This. Girl. The smile on his face, the way he watched her and laughed was exactly what you want to see in your couple. Chris’s positive, happy personality equals Kacee’s perfectly, and they compliment each other in so many ways. Chris also comes from a large, loving family. And you could so obviously tell on the day they married that they adore Kacee just as much.
And then there is Higgs the Dog. Higgs is a one of a kind kinda puppy. He loves hunting and fishing with his dad, but is cuddly and sweet and a total mama’s boy. Higgs played a very important role in the wedding in his fancy bow tie, bringing the rings to Chris and Kacee, and posing like a true model for some awesome portraits.
Kacee and Chris’s wedding was exactly what they wanted it to be about. Their love for each other, their family and best friends. And it was executed perfectly. I loved that warm, late afternoon in September by a lake with flowers and candles in the waterfall and pure joy and happiness everywhere. Thank you for having me be a part of this gorgeous celebration Kacee, Chris and Higgs!
