An Emotional Wedding Full of LOVE at the International Tennis Hall of Fame
Some wedding days stay with you long after you pack up your cameras and head home. Mary Payne and Saige’s wedding at the International Tennis Hall of Fame was absolutely one of those days.
Yes, it was beautiful. The historic Newport setting, the thoughtful details, the incredible florals, and the celebration itself were all a dream to photograph. But what I will remember most is how this day felt.
From the beginning, it was clear that Mary Payne and Saige are deeply loved. Their wedding party was the perfect reflection of that. There were bridesmen, groomswomen, a man of honor, and a best woman. Titles did not matter nearly as much as the people standing beside them. Their people were there because they loved them, and you could feel that in every hug, every tear, and every moment throughout the day.
A Wedding Day Filled With So Much Love
As a Mystic-based wedding photographer, I am always looking for the moments that happen in between the big events. The quick glances. The hands reaching for each other. The tears that surprise you. The laughter that takes over a room. Mary Payne and Saige gave me so many of those moments.
There was such a beautiful sense of connection surrounding this entire celebration. Their family and friends did not simply show up for a wedding. They showed up for them. And that made every part of the day feel even more meaningful. The speeches were emotional. The hugs lasted longer than usual. Happy tears made plenty of appearances. Even the smallest moments seemed to carry so much weight. That is the kind of wedding day I love documenting.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame was such an incredible backdrop for Mary Payne and Saige’s celebration. With its historic architecture and classic Newport charm, it created the perfect setting for a wedding that felt both elegant and completely personal.

As a photographer, I kept coming back to the people. The beautiful details matter. The venue matters. The flowers, fashion, and carefully planned reception matter too. But fifty years from now, I hope these photographs bring them right back to how it all felt. I hope they remember the people who stood beside them. I hope they remember the tears, the laughter, and the way their favorite people filled every corner of the room with love. Those are the moments that feel like art to me.
