A beautiful wedding day at the always stunning Branford House…
Okay but seriously, this venue never misses — it’s basically a castle by the sea and every time I photograph a wedding here, I fall in love all over again. Shannon and Kevin’s wedding was the perfect mix of classic elegance, coastal charm, and heartfelt moments that had everyone (including me) misty-eyed behind the camera.
If you’re dreaming up a timeless, luxury wedding in Connecticut with views of the Long Island Sound and historic architecture that makes every photo look like a still from a vintage film — Branford House is it. Scroll through and you’ll see why this is one of my favorite wedding venues in New England.
An elegant, coastal Connecticut wedding day 🌊
Shannon and Kevin got married on a warm July afternoon. The entire day had a kind of golden light you hope for when you plan a summer wedding on the water. The day started at the Branford House, where the stone terrace and manicured lawn set the scene for a stunning ceremony overlooking the waves.
Shannon wore the dreamiest dress from The White Dress by the Shore — classic, romantic, and just a little bit ethereal. Her bridesmaids were dressed in soft, coastal blues from Birdy Grey and Kennedy Blue. The dresses paired perfectly with the soft, organic florals designed by Karen Tierney Floral Designs. Think blushes, creams, and a touch of greenery — totally effortless and so pretty.
Kevin and his guys wore sharp, classic black tuxes from Men’s Wearhouse, which gave the whole day this elevated, black-tie feel without being too buttoned-up. Every detail was so well thought out but still felt relaxed and intimate — truly the best of both worlds.
A ceremony full of emotion 🥹
Their ceremony was one of those that just hits different. There were so many sweet glances, little hand squeezes, and happy tears — my favorite kind of moments to photograph. You could feel the love between them, and it made every photo feel like a piece of art. It’s weddings like this that remind me why I do what I do.
After the ceremony, we snuck away for some golden hour portraits (a must at Branford House) — the way the sun hits that stone? Unreal. Their love felt effortless, and every frame looked like it belonged in an old film reel. Just magic.
A reception to remember ✨
The reception was held inside the grand hall of the Branford House, with candlelit tables, dreamy florals, and just the right amount of sparkle. WT Wedding Rentals helped bring it all together with elegant details that tied everything in perfectly. Spice Catering Group served up an incredible meal, and once dinner wrapped up, the dance floor exploded thanks to Local Motion Entertainment.
And can we talk about that energy?! Every guest was on their feet, dancing like nobody was watching, and the whole night felt like a celebration you never wanted to end.
If you’re planning a Branford House wedding or looking for a wedding photographer in Mystic, Connecticut who loves capturing those emotional, artful moments that feel like they belong in a vintage photo album — I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make some magic.
