Kristen and Naveed’s wedding day felt like stepping straight into the pages of a romance novel—and I swear I’m not just saying that. These two have the kind of love that makes you believe in fate. They first met in 2015 at an Irish bar in Boston (how cute is that?), and from the second Kristen laid eyes on Naveed, she knew something was different. Fast forward a few years, countless brunch dates, brewery hops, and hikes later—and here they were, saying “I do” surrounded by the people they love most, in one of the most breathtaking venues I’ve ever photographed: Kingdom of the Hawk in Mystic, Connecticut.
Their dreamy venue
If you’ve never been to Kingdom of the Hawk—oh my gosh. This venue is straight out of a dream. Nestled in the quiet woods just outside Mystic, it has this magical, almost otherworldly vibe. Rustic charm meets modern elegance, with rolling fields, towering trees, and that golden-hour light that makes everything look like a vintage film still. It was chef’s kiss perfect for the emotional, artful style of wedding photography I love creating.
Kristen’s timeless look
Kristen wore a stunning gown from Julie Allen Bridals, and it fit her like a glove. Seriously, she looked like she stepped out of an editorial spread. Her bridesmaids, dressed in soft hues from David’s Bridal, were all glowing with excitement (and okay, a few happy tears too). The vibe was emotional, joyful, and effortlessly romantic—exactly what I live for as a wedding photographer in Mystic.
Kristen’s makeup, done by the incredibly talented crew at Wells Street Spa, looked flawless all day long (yes, even after some serious happy-crying during the vows).
Floral perfection
The florals by Stylish Blooms brought the whole aesthetic together—lush, soft, and timeless. Think creamy whites and muted greens, with just a hint of dusty rose. I could have photographed her bouquet all day.
Culinary excellence + coordination
From start to finish, Coastal Gourmet handled the catering and day-of coordination flawlessly. The food was delicious, the timing was smooth, and the team made sure everything ran like clockwork without ever feeling rushed. I always love working with vendors who truly care—and this team knocked it out of the park.
And let’s talk about the cake—Creative Cakes by Donna made the most elegant, classic design with delicate floral touches that matched the bouquet perfectly. It was almost too pretty to eat… almost.
Dance floor magic
And when it was time to party? Michael Simonetta DJ & Event Services brought the energy in the best way. Their first dance was to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran (Kristen told me it was the song that made her realize Naveed was the one—cue the tissues). From that moment on, the dance floor stayed packed. It was one of those nights where everyone just felt so present. So much laughter. All the love. So many sweet, candid moments I’ll never forget.
Kristen and Naveed’s wedding day was emotional, artistic, and full of warmth—everything I adore capturing. If you’re dreaming of a Mystic, Connecticut wedding with romantic, vintage film vibes and heartfelt candid imagery, this is your sign. These are the kinds of love stories I live for. 🥹
