Laura + David were married at 3:30pm on a golden October afternoon at the ever-gorgeous Deans Mill Farm in Stonington, CT. The venue is a rustic space tucked just outside Mystic, Connecticut that always delivers those warm, woodsy vibes. With its rolling fields, weathered barns, and cozy fall light, it was the perfect backdrop for a day full of emotion, laughter, and love that felt straight out of an old film reel.

Their color palette was a fall dream come true—deep maroons, rusty oranges, and warm reds. Their colors were also woven throughout their florals by The Dirt Empress, who never misses when it comes to lush, organic arrangements. The bridesmaids wore velvet burnt orange gowns from Baltic Born, and they popped so beautifully against the rich greenery and warm wood tones of the farm. Laura wore a stunning, fitted lace gown from Spark Bridal Outlet that was both romantic and timeless, while David and his groomsmen went classic with navy suits and rust-colored ties that tied it all together (pun intended).

Getting ready moments + a sweet first look…

I started the day with Laura and her girls in the getting-ready suite—snapping those soft, quiet moments as they helped her into her dress and toasted champagne. I always love finding creative ways to make these traditional photos feel like little pieces of art. You could feel the buzz of excitement, but also this grounded sense of calm around Laura—like she knew this day was going to be everything she dreamed of.

Once her veil was in place and the sun peeked through the windows, we headed outside for her first look with David. These two—ugh, my heart. You could see the emotion in every glance and touch. It’s moments like these that remind me why I’m so drawn to this work! I love capturing wedding days in a way that feels like honest, emotional art.

Ceremony + reception all in one gorgeous space…

One of my favorite parts of this day? Laura and David chose to keep things simple and guest-friendly by using the same space for their ceremony and reception. The ceremony space was set with wooden chairs, fall florals, and golden light pouring in from the sides. They then later flipped it into a cozy, inviting reception space complete with warm string lights and long tables for family-style dining.

Their ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion, with not a dry eye in the house (mine included). As soon as the vows were sealed with a kiss, the party flowed seamlessly into cocktail hour and dinner.

All the little details i loved…

Cocktail hour music was provided by Rob Davis. He set the perfect tone while guests sipped signature drinks and sampled passed apps from Pranzi Catering. The main course came courtesy of Keane’s Wood Fired Catering, who served up mouthwatering plates that guests are still talking about. Their sweetheart cake by Isis Cakes was a stunner—simple, elegant, and delicious—while the guest cake from Greggs gave everyone a slice of sweet nostalgia.

Hair and makeup by Transcendent Makeup stayed flawless all day long (even through lots of happy tears and dancing!). And speaking of dancing—Luke Renchan Entertainment brought the energy and kept the dance floor packed all night long.

From start to finish, it was the kind of fall wedding at Deans Mill Farm that makes you want to relive it over and over again. Between the vintage-inspired details, the golden light, and all the emotion in the air, it felt like a love letter to autumn—and to each other.
