Debbie + Michael’s May wedding at Rose Vineyards and Winery in Connecticut was straight out of a dream. These two are so clearly meant to be together, and it showed in every single moment of their day—from the quiet, emotion-filled morning to the candlelit reception. As a wedding photographer based in Mystic, CT, I live for days like this—emotional, intentional, and overflowing with personal touches that feel like art.
A calm morning at hotel marcel…
The day started with a peaceful morning at Hotel Marcel, where Debbie and her girls got ready with laughter, mimosas, and the most stunning natural light (yes please!). Andrea Marchese worked magic on hair while Jenna Pasquariello gave Debbie the softest, most romantic makeup look. Debbie wore a dreamy BHLDN gown that felt both timeless and effortlessly modern—total vintage film vibes.
Over in another room, Michael and his crew suited up, full of nerves and excitement. There’s something really special about that morning energy—quiet, buzzing, and full of anticipation.
Traditional church ceremony + private vows before the party…
The couple chose to have a traditional religious ceremony at Virgin Mary & Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church, and it was absolutely beautiful. Surrounded by family and sacred tradition, they exchanged rings, walked hand-in-hand down the aisle, and officially became husband and wife.
But one of my favorite parts of the day? Debbie and Michael slipped into their moody, candlelit reception space before guests arrived to read private vows to each other. It was quiet, intimate, and deeply emotional—just the two of them, holding hands and tearing up as they shared words they’ll never forget. Moments like that are what make this job so meaningful.
Sunset portraits in the vineyard…
After their private vow exchange, we stepped outside for newlywed portraits in the vineyard. The light was soft and golden (hello, golden hour perfection), and the backdrop of Rose Vineyards gave us the dreamiest, most romantic setting. These two absolutely melted into each other—no posing needed. Just love, warmth, and that old-school film feeling that makes everything feel a little more magical.
A moody, cozy reception…
Inside the winery, guests were welcomed into the most romantic reception space, filled with candlelight, wine barrels, and the warmest, coziest vibes. Rose Vineyards and Winery truly outdid themselves, not only with the atmosphere but also with their incredible catering.
J Cakes created a beautifully simple and elegant wedding cake, and DJ Rudy Collela kept the dance floor full all night long. From heartfelt speeches to spontaneous dance-offs, it was a night full of joy, laughter, and connection.
I still can’t get over how beautiful this day was. Debbie + Michael’s wedding felt like an old love song—timeless, full of soul, and something you want to play over and over again.
So much love to these two for letting me be a part of it all. Here’s a little peek into their day:
