Sometimes, couples just get it right by breaking all the rules. That’s exactly what Whitney and Chette did on their wedding day, and honestly, I’m still thinking about it. Their wedding at Hammonasset Beach State Park was everything you could imagine in an intimate beach wedding—simple, emotional, and full of raw moments that felt like art. I absolutely loved getting to capture this incredibly special day for them.

A beautifully intimate ceremony…

Whitney and Chette kept their wedding day cozy and personal, inviting only their closest friends and family to celebrate with them. The first of June couldn’t have been more perfect for an outdoor ceremony, with the gentle sound of the waves in the background and soft, golden light lighting up their special moments. The vibe was relaxed, yet completely magical.

I met up with them earlier in the day for a tear-filled first look that had me reaching for my camera to capture their raw emotions. They shared a quiet moment together before we ventured down to the beach for some candid portraits. The ocean breeze, the stunning coastline, and their palpable love for each other—everything was so dreamy.

A post-ceremony walk + dip…

Okay, I have to admit—one of my absolute favorite parts of the day (and maybe my new obsession) was when Whitney and Chette decided to wade into the ocean in their wedding clothes. I mean, they were already breaking the rules by having a laid-back, intimate ceremony, so why not go all in, right?! We had such an incredible time capturing these playful, romantic moments as they walked hand-in-hand through the surf. To say it made my dream of photographing weddings in the ocean come true would be an understatement!

In the end, Whitney and Chette’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their love, it was a testament to how weddings don’t have to follow the “rules” to be perfect. Their day was a beautiful reflection of who they are—adventurous, down-to-earth, and completely in love with one another.
