{Branford House 6.30.23}
The words Kelley and Jordan used to describe their wedding day were classic, traditional, elegant, and FUN—and let me tell you, their day was exactly that, from start to finish. Their Branford House wedding felt like something out of a timeless movie, with a touch of golden summer magic and the kind of joy you can’t fake. I’m still not over it!
We kicked off the day with the dream team—Platinum Salon and Glam Done Wright worked their magic and had everyone glowing. Kelley’s classic bridal updo and soft glam makeup fit the vibe perfectly. Once she slipped into her gown from Everthine Bridal Boutique, it was game over. Elegant, tailored, timeless—everything you’d want for a seaside summer ceremony. Meanwhile, her bridesmaids looked incredible in their Bella Bridesmaids dresses, and the guys were sharp in classic tuxes from Carl Anthony Tuxedo.
A dreamy first look + ceremony…
Kelley and I made the short walk to the first look, and Jordan’s reaction? Just the sweetest thing. His jaw literally dropped—and honestly, same. That moment was so full of emotion, and I live for that as a wedding photographer. Give me all the teary-eyed, heart-skipping beats. It’s what I love most about photographing weddings here in Mystic, Connecticut—the raw emotion, the connection, the art of it all.
Their ceremony took place on the lawn with the Branford House’s iconic stone façade behind them and the ocean glistening in the background. Honestly, it was picture-perfect. Their officiant kept things heartfelt and personal (I definitely teared up behind my camera). And with Jake Mortrude playing live music? Literal chills.
Coastal vibes, golden hour + an ice cream truck…
During cocktail hour, guests sipped and snacked while overlooking the water, and Jake kept the good vibes going. Then it was time to head under the tent for the reception, and WOW. SES Events truly outdid themselves with planning and coordination—everything ran so smoothly and looked beautiful. The florals by Blue Butterfly added the perfect soft, romantic touches with creamy neutrals and hints of greenery that paired so well with the coastal setting.
Dinner was catered by The Tin Peddler (yes, it tasted as good as it smelled), and I snuck Kelley and Jordan away for golden hour portraits right as the sky started to glow. Those few quiet moments with just the two of them… so dreamy. I always tell my couples, your portraits should feel like you—natural, intimate, artful—and these two made it so easy.
Later, Kelley did a quick outfit change into something sleek and fun, and they hit the dance floor hard with Daband bringing the energy all night long. And just when everyone thought the night couldn’t get any better? An ice cream truck rolled up. I mean… come on. Best. Night. Ever.
Kelley + Jordan, your day was the perfect mix of classic elegance and carefree fun. Thank you for trusting me to capture every moment, every happy tear, every wild dance move. I’m so honored to have been a part of it.
