Where do I even begin with Erin + Iain’s Jonathan Edwards Winery wedding day? Honestly, it was such a magical day that I’m finding it hard to put into words, but I’m going to try my best! These two are the absolute sweetest—so kind, so in love, and their chemistry was just everything. I knew their wedding was going to be incredible from the moment we did their engagement session (you can check it out here!) and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint!
As I said, their wedding was held at the stunning Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington, Connecticut, which already had me swooning. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I adore vineyard weddings, and this one was no exception. The soft, natural light, the rolling vines, the picturesque views—it was a photographer’s dream!
The morning of – beautiful moments + special moments!
The day began with Erin and her bridal party getting ready at the winery, and let me tell you, the energy was so fun. The ladies were glammed up by the talented team at Pro Radiance Artistry, and I spent some time capturing those gorgeous little details—the rings, the shoes, the invitation suite. There’s something so special about those little moments that set the tone for the rest of the day.
And when Erin slipped into her Jenny Yoo gown? Cue the chills. She looked absolutely breathtaking. We did a little “bridesmaid reveal,” and the look on her girls’ faces when they saw her in her dress was priceless. It was such an emotional moment, and I’m so grateful I got to capture it. There’s something so special about those candid reactions, right?
The first look!
Then came the moment I had been waiting for—the first look. Erin + Iain chose to have a private moment before the ceremony, and it was everything I had hoped for and more. As soon as Iain turned around and saw Erin for the first time, his face completely lit up. And then… the tears. I’m telling you, it was one of the sweetest, most emotional first looks I’ve ever had the honor of capturing. You could just feel the love between them.
After their first look, we spent some time doing portraits with the couple and their wedding party. The vineyard made for such a beautiful backdrop, and it was so fun to capture both candid moments and posed shots. These two were so comfortable in front of the camera, which made my job super easy!
A ceremony with irish tradition!
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite moments had to be when Erin + Iain were escorted down the aisle by a bagpiper—a tribute to Iain’s Irish heritage. There’s something so moving about the sound of bagpipes filling the air, and it really added to the sense of tradition and romance. Plus, Iain changed into a kilt for part of the reception, which was such a fun nod to his roots. Loved it!
The party!
The reception was a blast, and as always, Dawson Entertainment brought the party to life with some amazing tunes. We couldn’t help but hit the dance floor and celebrate the newlyweds. And can we talk about the food? A huge shoutout to A Thyme to Cook for the delicious meal, and Brickley’s Ice Cream had the perfect sweet touch to end the evening. Seriously, there’s nothing better than ice cream at a wedding!
Erin and Iain’s wedding day was truly one for the books. From the emotional first look to the Irish traditions, the laughter, and the beautiful moments in between—it was a celebration of love, culture, and family. I’m so thankful to have been there to capture it all. It was a perfect day, and I wish these two all the happiness in the world as they start this new chapter together.
