{DuBois Beach + Mystic Yachting Club 9.15.23}
Jessica and Rory’s Mystic wedding day was one of those sweet, simple love stories that just sticks with you. Every part of it felt intentional and easy—in the best way. Their day was full of love, a few happy tears, and the kind of romantic beach vibes that made it feel like a vintage film come to life.
I met Jessica just as she was stepping into her dress (from Spark Bridal—she looked absolutely stunning). There was this calm excitement in the air, and I could already tell the day was going to be something special. Since they chose not to do a first look, I headed down to DuBois Beach early to catch Rory’s reaction. And oh my gosh—his eyes filled with tears the second he saw her walking down the aisle. It was such an emotional, beautiful moment and one of my favorite parts of the day to capture.
The ceremony took place right on the beach, with the ocean behind them and soft florals by Rose Hill Bloom Co framing the space. It felt intimate and dreamy—like the kind of place you’d want to pause time.
Golden hour portraits + a cozy coastal reception…
After the ceremony, we grabbed a few fun portraits with their sweet pups (yes to dogs at weddings always!!) before sneaking away for some golden hour newlywed portraits. With no wedding party, I got to spend extra time with just the two of them, which meant we got alllll the romantic, candid shots around both the ceremony site and their reception venue.
Speaking of the reception—Mystic Yachting Club was the perfect cozy coastal spot. With amazing food (shoutout to their in-house catering team!) and a seriously gorgeous view of the harbor, it felt so classic New England. The cake from Vesta Bakery was not only beautiful but delicious (I may have snagged a slice), and Collins Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night.
Jessica’s hair was styled by Refuge Salon, and her makeup was done by the incredibly talented Nancy Boegler—she had this soft, glowy look that stayed flawless all day despite the sea breeze. Rory kept it classy in Men’s Wearhouse, and the two of them together? Just pure magic.
The whole day felt like a nostalgic little love story—romantic, relaxed, and full of emotion. The kind of wedding that reminds me why I love what I do. If you’re planning a wedding in Mystic and dreaming of something timeless, emotional, and full of candid, film-inspired imagery, this is your sign. 🖤
