Heritage Homestead Wedding | Angela + Dennis

There are some wedding days that feel like pure magic, and Angela + Dennis’ Heritage Homestead wedding was exactly that. It was one of those perfect September days — warm sun, soft breezes, and a love story years in the making. As a Mystic-based wedding photographer, I live for capturing emotion-filled images that feel like art, and this day was overflowing with candid, heartfelt moments.

A love story that spanned years 💕

Angela and Dennis’ story began way back in middle school. Angela remembers sitting in front of him on their 8th grade field trip to Philadelphia, laughing at his jokes the entire time. The spark was there, but the timing wasn’t right. Through high school and college, they were close friends — always drawn to one another — until one night at Toad’s Place in New Haven when they finally had their first kiss. From then on, their story unfolded naturally, full of fun, friendship, and a love that has stood the test of time.

When Dennis proposed on the Guilford Green, he was so excited he couldn’t wait to pop the question. The two celebrated with dinner and a New York City getaway — the perfect start to the next chapter of their lives.

A romantic + modern wedding day 💍

Their Heritage Homestead wedding was romantic, modern, and fun all at once. From the start of the day with Angela and her ladies to the last song on the dance floor, it was filled with joy. The décor and florals by Willow & Grey set a timeless, elegant tone (with the most incredible floral baskets!!!), while the food and desserts made sure guests were well taken care of. From late-night grilled cheese by Crispy Melty (Angela’s must-have!) to a custom groom’s cake, every detail felt personal and intentional.

As the sun set, we slipped away for golden hour portraits. These are always my favorite — the soft light, the quiet moments between a couple, the kind of photographs that feel like film stills. Angela + Dennis’ joy and connection came through in every frame.

Celebrating love + looking forward to forever!

Angela and Dennis said they were most excited to celebrate surrounded by friends and family, dancing the night away, and soaking in every moment together. They’re now looking forward to building a life side by side — creating a home and, one day, raising a family.

It was such an honor to capture this day. Heritage Homestead was the perfect backdrop for a love story that started so many years ago, and photographing Angela + Dennis’ wedding reminded me why I adore this work so much.
