Glastonbury Boathouse Wedding | Quincy + Judah

June 23, 2018

{Glastonbury Boathouse 06.23.18}

Quincy + Judah’s wedding at the Glastonbury Boathouse was one of those days that felt like a movie—equal parts timeless romance and big family celebration. The way Judah looked at Quincy the entire day? Like he couldn’t believe she was real. From the moment she walked down the aisle (after a surprise storm no one saw coming) to the way he rubbed her hand during the ceremony, every glance, every touch, told a whole story.

These two have a lot of stories, actually. They’ve known each other since high school, with notebooks full of love letters and years of growing together. Judah knew back then that Quincy was his person, and Quincy knew—well, she knew during a “break” when he was still the one she called in a crisis. That last “first” date sealed it for them. He proposed on a Cape Cod family vacation, and though it wasn’t a complete surprise, it was perfectly them. Now they live in Texas, and honestly? I don’t think they’ve stopped celebrating since.

The most emotional wedding day…

Judah is one of ten siblings (yes, 10!!), and every one of them was at the wedding. It was so cool to see them all together—you could totally catch little resemblances in their smiles and mannerisms. The ceremony was sweet and deeply meaningful. They had two beautiful readings: a poem from Judah’s grandmother that she had read at her own wedding, and a benediction from Judah’s father—a scripture he had prayed over Judah every night as a child. Yeah. Cue the tears.

Quincy made her entrance in the most dramatic way possible—just as she was about to walk down the stairs to meet Judah, a sudden storm rolled in. No warning. Nothing on the radar. Just a full-blown wedding-day plot twist. But honestly? It made the moment even more magical. She ended up walking in with her father upstairs instead, and the look on Judah’s face when he saw her? I’ll never forget it.

Family, fun and so. much. dancing!!!

After the ceremony, we did family portraits—and with a crew this big, you can imagine the energy! It was chaotic in the best way. Hugging, laughing, a few tears, and so much love packed into every frame. Both Quincy and Judah’s families showed up big, and having grandparents there made it even more special.

The reception kicked off with heartfelt first dances—each one a little love story on its own. Judah’s grandfather gave a blessing, Quincy’s dad gave a warm welcome, and the toasts? Hilarious and touching. Quincy’s sister crushed it, and the best man brought the house down.

Then came a moment I loved—Quincy started the dance floor with her mom, sister, and brother to “Dancing in the Moonlight,” a tradition for their family. From there, the party did not stop. The dance floor was packed all night, and it honestly felt like one big, joyful exhale.

Quincy + Judah—thank you for trusting me to photograph this piece of your love story. You two radiate so much care for the people around you, and I could feel that energy in every moment of your Glastonbury Boathouse wedding day. From our first phone call to your wedding day hugs, I knew you were my kind of people. I’m so glad I get to watch your love continue to grow.
