Stacey + Cody’s dreamy summer wedding at The Architect’s Golf Club felt like the kind of celebration you never want to end. Sun-soaked, joyful, and full of heart—this destination wedding wasn’t just about two people getting married. It was about two families coming together, and friends from all over showing up to celebrate a couple they absolutely adore.
I’ve been lucky enough to know Stacey + Cody since our CrossFit days—back when they were just dating and had recently adopted their sweet pup, Zeus. Since then, I’ve watched their love story grow through milestones like buying their home and, of course, Cody’s epic proposal (more on that below!). So when they asked me to photograph their wedding, I was beyond honored.
From college sweethearts to mr + mrs…
Stacey + Cody’s love story started in college, where they instantly clicked. From that very first date, there was an ease and comfort between them that never went away. As they built their relationship through the ups and downs of finishing school and starting their careers, they always kept that foundation of support and laughter.
Stacey has always admired Cody’s intelligence, calm presence, and that uncanny ability to take apart and fix just about anything. (Seriously, the man is an engineer for a reason.) Cody was drawn to Stacey’s smarts, beauty, and her big, caring heart. And yes, he loves his BMWs—but nothing tops the way he loves her.
Their proposal was so them: a quiet outdoor walk with Zeus, their favorite kind of day. Cody kept it light by pulling out a Ring Pop first (iconic), but don’t worry—he had the real ring ready for when he got down on one knee. Stacey said yes, of course, and the rest is history.
A breezy ceremony full of meaning…
Their wedding day was filled with thoughtful touches. Stacey’s aunt officiated their heartfelt ceremony, and their moms tried to light a special unity candle that had been used in past family weddings. The wind had other plans, but the symbolism was still there—and beautiful.
One of my favorite parts of the day was riding golf carts around the course for portraits. We had so much fun zipping from one photo spot to the next, and it gave the couple a chance to soak in a few quiet moments together before the party kicked off.
Cocktail hour was set under a tent with the most perfect breeze, overlooking the green. Guests sipped drinks, caught up with old friends, and basked in that golden late-afternoon light.
A reception that felt like home…
Inside the ballroom, Stacey + Cody shared their first dance surrounded by their favorite people. In a sweet twist, they each also danced with their grandparents in addition to the traditional parent dances. Cue all the happy tears.
I have to say—this family knows how to make people feel welcome. From the second I arrived, I felt like one of their own. Between his mom’s homemade Italian cookies and her dad’s wine (yes please!), I left that weekend with a full heart—and a full stomach.
Planning a destination wedding meant that Stacey + Cody got to spend the whole weekend surrounded by their loved ones. It wasn’t just one day of celebration—it was a full experience, and I know those memories will last forever.
Stacey + Cody, you two are something special. Your love is steady and sweet, and you’ve surrounded yourselves with some seriously inspiring role models. Watching your story unfold has been the biggest honor. Cheers to forever, and to always choosing each other—Ring Pops and all.
