Barbie + Joe exchanged vows and officially became husband and wife on October 2, 2021, at the gorgeous Waveny House in New Canaan, Connecticut. This dreamy mansion wedding venue set the perfect stage for their romantic and joy-filled celebration. From the sweetest tear-filled ceremony to an epic dance party under the stars, their wedding day was one for the books.

Their vision was classic, elegant, and full of heart—and let me tell you, it was all of that and more. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and it all came together beautifully thanks to J. Closs Events and Weddings, who kept the day running so smoothly.

An elegant mansion wedding full of emotion…

There’s something so timeless about a fall wedding at Waveny House. The crisp autumn air, the golden light, and that ivy-covered brick—it all feels straight out of a vintage romance film. Barbie and Joe leaned into that vintage charm with warm florals and delicate decor by Kezzia Events, which perfectly complimented the historic mansion’s charm.

Their ceremony was such an emotional one, with both of them tearing up as they read their vows (and okay, I teared up too). It was one of those moments that reminds you exactly why this work means so much—getting to document these intimate, heart-full moments that feel like forever.

All the little details that made it magical…

Barbie wore a stunning gown from Majesty Bridal by Essense of Australia, and she looked absolutely radiant. Her bridal look was tied together with a soft, romantic updo by Jenna Carrano and glowing makeup by Cree Culm. Joe looked equally sharp in his classic black tux—these two were truly a vision.

One of my favorite parts of the day was sneaking away with Barbie and Joe for some quiet portraits around the property. That golden hour light hit just right, and the way they looked at each other—ugh, it was magic. These are the kinds of moments I live for as a Connecticut wedding photographer. Candid, emotional, and artful.

They also had the sweetest wedding party (and the cutest kids!!), which made the whole day feel like one big celebration of love. Every single person there was just so happy to be witnessing their love story.

A cake, photo booth + one wild dance floor…

Once the sun set, the party really kicked off. The team at Quantum Sound brought the energy with their photo booth and DJ setup—everyone was on the dance floor. From heartfelt toasts to nonstop dancing, it was the kind of reception that made you never want to leave.

And let’s talk about the cake. Pink Sweets Cakes created the most gorgeous (and delicious) tiered cake with soft florals and delicate details that matched the romantic theme of the day. It was almost too pretty to cut… almost.

To Barbie and Joe—thank you for letting me be part of your love story. Your day was filled with so much love, laughter, and light, and I feel so lucky to have captured it all. Wishing you a lifetime of joy, adventure, and lots more happy tears.
