Sunflowers, Zinnias, and Golden Light: Julia + Alex’s Dreamy Dame Farm Engagement Session

When Julia reached out and asked if we could meet at the beautiful Dame Farm in Johnston, Rhode Island for her engagement session, I said YES without hesitation. I mean… creamy golden sunlight and a sunflower field? Absolute dream.

Julia showed up in a stunning all-white outfit—full bride vibes. Alex complimented her perfectly in sleek all-black. The contrast between them was gorgeous, especially with the golden blooms all around.

We took our time wandering through the sunflower farm. No rush, no pressure. Just the two of them being themselves—laughing, cuddling, soaking in the moment. It’s always so important to me that couples feel relaxed in front of the camera. That way, the photos end up feeling like real memories, not just poses.

Dame Farm has a second little field full of wild zinnias. It’s tucked away and so underrated. We snuck over there right before the sun dipped down and captured some vintage film-inspired shots that I’m still not over. Think warm tones, soft focus, and a little bit of nostalgia. Obsessed.

Sessions like this are what I live for—easy, emotional, and full of light. Julia + Alex were totally themselves, and it shows in every single photo.

I’m already counting down the days until they tie the knot at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills next October. If their wedding day is anything like this session, it’s going to be unreal.
