As a Mystic-based wedding photographer, I love when couples want a wedding that feels them. Alyssa and Joe’s early October wedding was the perfect example. Instead of a huge, traditional event, they chose to tie the knot in front of Beavertail State Park’s gorgeous blue skies and sparkling waters. It was the most intimate ceremony. Just a few close friends, family, and a lot of love.
Alyssa and Joe exchanged vows in a private moment. They shared their first kiss under the open sky. The whole thing felt so personal and emotional. I love capturing moments like this because they’re raw and real. The couple’s connection was palpable, and you could tell how much this day meant to them.
After the ceremony, they hopped in their cute Mini Cooper and drove to Stoneacre Gardens. There, about 25 of their closest loved ones were waiting. Good food, good drinks, and even better vibes. It was the perfect way to celebrate. No frills, just an honest and joyful gathering.
I absolutely love working with couples who want to make their wedding feel personal and relaxed. Alyssa and Joe didn’t follow all the traditional rules. They created a day that was all about them, and that’s what made it so special. Their wedding wasn’t about following a script—it was about creating memories that truly reflected their love.
Here are a few of my favorite moments from their day. From the heartfelt vows to the relaxed reception, it was a beautiful celebration of love. I’m so grateful to have been part of it.
