There is something so special about a wedding where you can truly feel just how much two people adore each other. Juliet and William’s beautiful mid-May wedding at Kingdom of the Hawk was exactly that. Every moment felt effortless, heartfelt, and full of joy. As a Mystic, Connecticut wedding photographer, these are the kinds of days I love documenting most. The quiet moments, the happy tears, the laughter, and all of the little in-between memories that deserve to be remembered forever.
From the moment I arrived, there was an undeniable sense of excitement in the air. The spring sunshine poured through the windows while everyone finished getting ready. Family and friends filled every room with hugs, happy chatter, and anticipation for the day ahead.
Juliet looked absolutely timeless. Her gown from Lily Saratoga paired beautifully with the soft, romantic florals by Ladybug Designs. Every detail felt elegant without trying too hard. It was the perfect reflection of who they are together.
Juliet and William first met at Union College through a mutual friend. What started as an easy friendship quickly became something much deeper. They found comfort in simply being together, whether they were wandering the aisles of Target before a college party or grabbing Chipotle after class.
One of my favorite parts of their story is how ordinary moments became the most meaningful ones. During the uncertainty of the pandemic, they spent weeks living with each other’s families. Instead of pulling them apart, it only confirmed what they already knew. Home was wherever they were together.
That feeling carried into every part of their wedding day.
Their ceremony was emotional in all the best ways. You could see the excitement on William’s face the moment Juliet walked down the aisle. They laughed together, wiped away tears, and exchanged vows surrounded by the people who have supported them from the very beginning.
These are always my favorite moments to photograph because nothing is posed. Nothing is forced. It is simply real.
There is a reason I love photographing weddings at Kingdom of the Hawk. The property offers such a beautiful mix of natural scenery and elegant spaces. In May, everything feels especially alive. The fresh greenery and warm light created the dreamiest backdrop for portraits that felt soft, romantic, and timeless.
We took our time exploring the grounds, allowing Juliet and William to simply enjoy being together. Those quiet moments often become my favorite images of the entire day. They are the ones that feel less like wedding photos and more like memories.
As someone who loves creating images with a nostalgic, film-inspired feel, this venue is always a dream. Every corner offered beautiful light and so much room for genuine connection to unfold naturally.
The celebration continued with an incredible reception planned by Daly Planning. Guests enjoyed an amazing meal from Blue Rocks Catering, danced the night away thanks to Power Posse Productions, and celebrated this wonderful couple exactly the way they had hoped. The atmosphere was relaxed, joyful, and full of energy from beginning to end.
Watching Juliet and William surrounded by their favorite people made it easy to see what they are most excited about in marriage. Building a home together, traveling, hosting family and friends, cooking new recipes, and creating a life filled with simple moments that become lifelong memories.
Days like this remind me why I love being a Mystic wedding photographer. My goal is never just to document what your wedding looked like. I want you to remember exactly how it felt. Years from now, I hope these photographs bring you right back to this beautiful spring day, surrounded by everyone you love most.
Juliet and William, thank you for trusting me to capture such an unforgettable chapter of your story. It was truly an honor, and I cannot wait to watch your adventure continue.
