There is something really special about a wedding day that feels completely true to the couple, and Alison and Sean’s wedding at Deans Mills Farm was exactly that. It was relaxed, full of laughter, and overflowing with the kind of genuine moments that remind me why I love what I do. As a Mystic, Connecticut wedding photographer, these are the days I live for. The kind where every hug, happy tear, and dance floor moment feels completely authentic.
From the very beginning, it was obvious these two were meant to find each other.
Sean first spotted Alison singing karaoke in a friend’s Snapchat story. Before he had even met her, he knew he wanted to know the girl behind the microphone. He tracked down her number, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Even their first date turned into one of those stories they’ll be telling forever. What started as Sean driving Alison to the airport before Thanksgiving quickly became an unexpected dinner date after they accidentally went to the wrong airport. Instead of stressing, they found the nearest Ruby Tuesday, grabbed dinner together, and unknowingly created one of their favorite memories.
The grounds at Deans Mills Farm made the perfect backdrop for such an emotional celebration. The property has that timeless New England charm that photographs beautifully in every season. Every corner felt warm, inviting, and full of character.
One of my favorite moments from the day was watching Sean see Alison for the first time. He shared that from the very first week they spent together, he knew he never wanted to mess things up. Standing at the altar, you could tell that feeling had only grown stronger. The emotion on his face said everything.
Alison looked absolutely stunning thanks to Larissa Lake & Co., while the floral designs from Ladybug Designs added so much life and romance throughout the day. Every detail felt intentional without ever feeling overdone.
After the ceremony, everyone settled in for an incredible evening together. Guests enjoyed an amazing meal from Dog Watch Cafe, followed by one of the most fun receptions thanks to Darik and the Funbags. The dance floor stayed packed from the first song until the very last.
One of the sweetest touches of the night was the Del’s Lemonade Truck, which was such a fun surprise for guests and the perfect way to celebrate a warm summer evening. Little details like that always make a wedding feel even more personal.
Beautiful rentals from Pranzi Tents and Events helped transform the space while keeping the relaxed farm atmosphere everyone loved.
Throughout the day, Alison and Sean kept sneaking little glances at each other. Those quiet moments always end up being some of my favorite photographs. They are the moments that feel the most like real life.
Their wedding wasn’t about perfection. It was about being present with the people they love most. Those are always my favorite celebrations to photograph because the emotions naturally take center stage.
Sean shared that what he looked forward to most was watching Alison walk down the aisle and then celebrating with everyone they love. Looking back through these images, I think it’s safe to say both dreams came true.
As a Mystic CT wedding photographer, weddings like Alison and Sean’s remind me that the best photographs come from real connection. The joyful tears, the big laughs, the tight hugs, and the moments no one planned always become the memories that matter most years from now.
Alison and Sean, thank you for trusting me to document such an incredible day. It was an absolute honor to celebrate alongside you both. I cannot wait to watch all of the beautiful adventures that come next.
