You know those couples that just radiate joy? That’s Chelsey and Scott. From the second we met for their engagement session at Napatree Point, it felt like hanging out with two best friends. They brought so much energy, so many laughs, and honestly—it was impossible not to smile the entire time. Their love is the kind you feel when you’re around them. It’s light, fun, deep, and a little wild in the best way.

They picked Napatree Point in Rhode Island for their engagement photos because the ocean is their happy place. And as a wedding photographer based in Mystic, Connecticut, I totally get that. The coastline always brings a soft, romantic glow—especially with that vintage film look I love so much. It’s the perfect spot for emotional, artful photos that really capture a couple’s connection.

But instead of me telling you how perfect these two are, I’ll let them tell it in their own words—because their story? It’s a good one.

“She started stalking me to various RI bars…”

Scott says they met at The Mews Tavern (which he insists is very classy) and Chelsey was so into his corny pickup lines that she “just had to follow him around.” Eventually, he snuck his number into her phone so she could “properly” ask him out. Naturally.

Chelsey’s version? A little less dramatic. She said they clicked instantly and became friends right away. (We love a humble queen.)

Naked road trips, car snacks, and falling in love

When I asked Chelsey how she knew Scott was the one, she told me about the time they drove across the country to Colorado. Just the two of them, falling in love mile by mile—literally. There were naked road trip moments, sketchy motels, yelling song lyrics out the window, and one night in Chicago where Scott looked at her and said, “I’m all in. Let’s do this.”

Six weeks later, she packed up and moved back because she couldn’t imagine her life without him. Cue the tears.

Golden light, steamy kisses, and so much laughter

Their Napatree Point engagement session was the perfect mix of silly and steamy.
