Their waterfront wedding day…
I arrived at The Glastonbury Boathouse for Alexis + Matt’s wedding day just in time for Alexis to slip into her gorgeous Frankie gown by Made with Love Bridal. Alexis’ dress was so absolutely perfect for her. Its deep plunging neckline and floral lace bodice paired with the low v-backline and lace train was perfect for their summer wedding on the water. Matt wore a navy blue 1905 collection suit from Jos. A. Bank with a bold blue + white floral tie!
The lovebirds waited until Alexis walked down the aisle arm in arm with her grandfather to see each other and the tear-filled smile on Matt’s face said it all! They had a non-traditional ceremony under a wooden arch adorned with lush florals and sheer white chiffon fabric which was beautifully officiated by Matt’s uncle John and with the seal of a kiss, these two were officially HUSBAND AND WIFE! Now… it’s time to party!
Matt, Alexis + their wedding party were so much FUN! We headed out to the docks for portraits of the whole gang and many laughs were shared! After those portraits were done, I stole the newlyweds away for some couple portraits which… JUST WAIT until you see them! We had the most gorgeous golden light all over the venue’s grounds which allowed for the couple to just glow and for the dreamiest capures!
We then headed inside for their reception which was absolutely stunning and the food was to die for! Of course the guests couldn’t stop talking about the “Carb Bar” where they could top mashed potatoes and macaroni with all the toppings you could think of… it was a hit!! All of the dances from Alexis + Matt’s first dance, Matt’s dance with his mom and Alexis’ dance with her grandfather were so sweet and allowed for some really creative shots with the gorgeous lighting in the reception space. But once the lights were dimmed and the DJ took over, their guests never got off the dance floor! We had so many epic dance shots which were all SO FUN! You could just feel the love, not only between the newlyweds, but also from all of their family + friends who were there to celebrate alongside them.
It truly was a perfect day from start to finish and one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon! So happy for you two, you FINALLY did it!! Here’s to a lifetime of love, happiness + fun!
xo, Ames
