An intimate elopement

Amanda + Jay decided on having an intimate elopement ceremony instead of a traditional wedding.  The couple loves to travel, and an amazing dream trip to Italy was where they wanted to invest their time and energy (and who can blame them?!).  After thinking of a couple different locations for their elopement they decided on a city not too far from where they live, Providence.

We met at Prospect Terrace Park, where Jay was excited, but cool as ever.  Amanda came and met us, and I got to watch the couple share their first look. It was just pure happiness and excitement from that moment on!  After a couple of moments we walked around and I photographed the couple enjoying the spring weather and view of Downtown Providence.

Providence was a special place for the couple and having a Providence Athenaeum elopement was an easy decision.  Jay took Amanda there on one of their first dates.  The nearly two hundred year old library is full of so much character.   The lighting is dim and romantic, and Amanda + Jay said their vows in the midst of aisles and aisles of love stories.  It couldn’t be a more perfect location.

After the ceremony, Amanda + Jay were able to fully enjoy their new marriage with their parents and one friend who officiated.  I loved seeing how happy their mothers were especially!!  You could tell everyone was very excited for these two to be officially Mr. + Mrs.!
