{The Sullivan House 06.19.2021}
I can’t help but smile every time I think back to Morgan + Will’s wedding day on Block Island. I know I probably say this about every couple, but truly—this one hit different. From the second I arrived at The Sullivan House, I knew it was going to be a day to remember. The ocean breeze, the soft light, the energy… it felt like a Nicholas Sparks novel in the best way. Add in the fact that Morgan and Will are two of the most down-to-earth, in-love humans ever? I was in photographer heaven.
Getting ready in style…
The day kicked off in the prettiest bridal suite—natural light pouring in, champagne popping, and tequila shots being poured (out of a custom bottle with their new last name, of course). Morgan’s bridal party all matched in sleek black and white satin PJ sets, and the guys kept it classic in black suits from Jos. A. Bank.
Morgan’s dress? Unreal. She wore a fitted trumpet lace gown from Mariella Creations that hugged her perfectly and had just the right amount of drama. Every time the wind picked up and caught her veil, she looked like she had just stepped out of an editorial shoot. Total goddess vibes.
An oceanfront ceremony + an energetic reception…
The ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking the water, with the most stunning pointed arch made from driftwood, adorned in soft, romantic florals by Painted Rock Designs. The couple had their ceremony officiated by Morgan’s godmother which made it so personal and emotional. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd—myself included.
After the ceremony, guests headed to the tented reception space for cocktails, dancing, and some serious party energy. Wyllie Entertainment absolutely crushed it—everyone was on the dance floor within minutes. The vibes were immaculate.
A few of my favorite parts of the day? The bridesmaids’ first look at Morgan (cue tears), the sweetest private moment between Morgan and Will before the ceremony, and the pure chaos (in the best way) of their wedding party portraits—which included the girls wheelbarrow-ing Will across the lawn. I couldn’t make this up if I tried.
And don’t even get me started on the reception speeches. Emotional, hilarious, heartfelt. All of it. Their friends and family clearly adore them, and it made capturing those moments even more meaningful.
Details that made the day…
From the elegant touches on their sweetheart table to the minimalist yet stunning cake by Vesta Bakery, every detail was thoughtful and true to who they are as a couple. Hair styling by The SHED Salon brought the perfect soft-glam look to Morgan’s bridal glow, and the whole day ran smoothly thanks to Linda Mihalic of The Sullivan House, who kept everything on track with ease.
This wedding reminded me why I love what I do so much. It wasn’t just a beautiful day—it was a celebration of love, laughter, and all the little moments that make a wedding unforgettable. Morgan + Will, thank you for trusting me to document your story. I’ll be cheering you on for years to come.
