A Romantic Watch Hill Beach Engagement | Haley + Mark
You know those couples who just get each other? Haley + Mark are so that. Their Watch Hill engagement session at Napatree Point during sunset was full of golden light, ocean breezes, and moments that felt straight out of a vintage romance film. As a wedding photographer based in Mystic, Connecticut, these are the sessions that make my heart so full—candid, emotional, and artful, with that soft film-inspired vibe I love.
Haley + Mark first met at Springfield College when Mark was a senior and Haley was a junior. It all started on a warm Massachusetts day when Haley spotted Mark tossing a football with friends. Without hesitation, she walked right up and said, “Want me to teach you how to throw a football?” Talk about an iconic first move! Mark said he was instantly caught off guard—and he just knew he needed to get to know her. Fast forward to March 2019, they got engaged under a glowing sunset in the Dominican Republic. And now? The sweetest chapter of their story is just beginning.
When I asked Mark what he loves most about Haley, his answer melted me:
“She’s the best thing to ever happen to me. Haley is driven, hardworking, and just the perfect woman. I call her my secret sauce—she makes everything better.” 😭
Haley’s words were just as sweet:
“Mark is fiercely loyal, passionate, hardworking, and would do anything to protect my family. Oh—and he’s obviously incredibly handsome!”
The session…
Their engagement session at Napatree Point was everything Haley dreamed of—romantic and a little sexy, light and fun, with that dreamy golden hour glow. They started in casual outfits, dancing in the soft light as the sun dipped lower. Haley’s white dress flowed perfectly in the breeze. Later, they changed into formal wear and climbed the rocks at dusk—just in time for the wind to give us those cinematic windswept shots.
The light, the laughter, the movement—it all came together so effortlessly. Sessions like this are why I’m obsessed with capturing emotional imagery that feels like art. These two made my job so easy, and now I’m counting down the days until their October wedding at Farmington Gardens!
