Brittany + Victor’s Romantic Date Night Engagement Session in Mystic, CT

Brittany + Victor are just meant for each other. Their energy together is this perfect mix of playful and romantic, and their engagement session in Mystic, Connecticut captured all of that and more. As a wedding photographer who loves emotional, artful moments with a vintage film feel, this shoot was everything I could have asked for — and then some.

We kicked things off at The Engine Room, which isn’t just a cool local spot — it’s also where Brittany + Victor say their story truly began. They’d met in passing before, but this is where they officially locked eyes in 2014 while Victor was working there. From that moment on, their love story just unfolded so naturally. Their first date? Breakfast at The Breakfast & Burger (yep, Mystic has the cutest spots). From there, they became inseparable.

During their session, we leaned into those early “date night” vibes — cozy, laid-back, and real. Every smile, every glance felt like watching two best friends fall in love all over again. Brittany told me that when they quarantined together in a tiny apartment for months, it only confirmed what she already knew — Victor was her forever.

And then there’s their proposal story — so sweet and so them. Picture this: a boat ride to Ram Island, Brittany thinking she was just hangry and ready for dinner, and Victor with a surprise up his sleeve. They sat on a rock, just the two of them, and he popped the question. Afterward, they returned to Noah’s, where (somehow!) all their favorite people were there to celebrate. Pure magic.

When I asked them what they loved most about each other, their answers melted me. Victor admires Brittany’s strength and humor, especially knowing she hasn’t had the easiest journey. Brittany loves that Victor is hardworking, giving, and never fails to make her laugh.

Their October wedding at Stone Acres Farm in Stonington is going to be unforgettable — full of laughter, food, and so much love. I already can’t wait.
